Ghost hunting has gotten popular enough that some companies have began selling complete ghost hunting kits that includes most if not all of the paranormal equipment required to paranormal investigations.

Ghost hunters are steadily gaining in popularity not only for being watched on television but for also going to various places that people have reported as being haunted or frequented by the paranormal.

A good old style 35 mm film camera is a good piece of equipment to have in ghost hunting kits because of the way the film is developed particularly black and white film. Sometimes things will show up on the film that would not have appeared with a digital camera.

Night vision equipment is important to have because most ghost hunting is done at night and there will most likely be places where normal lighting will not be available.

Another old style piece of equipment to use is an analog tape recorder. It can be a back up to the digital recording equipment and like the 35 mm film camera an analog tape recorder may pick up a sound that the digital recorder missed.

EMF detectors and compasses can detect changes in electronic fields in various frequencies. Having these pieces of equipment in a ghost hunting kit is important for finding the changes and frequencies.

A GPS unit is required to help in keeping track of an exact location of where the ghost hunt takes place.

Walkie talkies and watches should be used so that team members can communicate with each other and the watches should be synchronized with each team member so that everyone has the same time for anything that happens.

It is also a good idea to have flash lights and extra batteries for all of the equipment as well as extra film for the camera and any extras for the other equipment in ghost hunting kits.
